Medical Billing & Coding Instructor Location: Learning Centers in Milo, Dover-Foxcroft, and Dexter

About the Role Piscataquis Valley Adult Education Cooperative (PVAEC) is looking for a knowledgeable practitioner to lead our Medical Billing and Coding program. In this role, you’ll teach at our learning centers across Milo, Dover-Foxcroft, and Dexter, guiding adult learners toward passing their National Healthcareer Association (NHA) certification exam and starting rewarding careers in healthcare.

What You’ll Do

• Teach & Inspire: Deliver engaging lessons covering medical terminology, coding systems, insurance processes, and healthcare documentation.

• Prep Students for Success: Guide learners through the curriculum to ensure they are confident and ready for the NHA certification exam.

• Support Adult Learners: Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment where students feel supported at every step of their learning journey.

• Manage Course Basics: Design lesson plans, track attendance, measure student progress, and collaborate with the broader PVAEC team.

What We’re Looking For

• Practical, hands-on experience in medical billing and coding (required).

• Previous teaching or workplace training experience (preferred, but we welcome strong industry experts who love to mentor).

• Strong communication skills and comfort working with adult learners from all walks of life.
